I am currently interested in reading some Japanese novels, but they haven’t been translated into any language I understand. I was wondering what the best sources are for learning how to read Japanese. I wasn’t sure if there were any books/resources focusing more on reading Japanese, rather than speaking it. Either way, I would love to know some resources that can teach the language at an easy and good pace.

Try Japanese: The Easy Way by Karen Sandness. I’ve seen many good testimonials about it. It does teach about the basics of reading and pronounciations.
